McDonalds reveals most common Your Questions probes

SO NOW that we know its not pink slime in McNuggets, what else do people really want to know about Maccas products? Like is 100% Aussie beef just the name of the company who supplies the beef patties? Or why does your burger never look like the ad?

SO NOW that we know it’s not pink slime in McNuggets, what else do people really want to know about Maccas products? Like is ‘100% Aussie beef’ just the name of the company who supplies the beef patties? Or why does your burger never look like the ad?

Since McDonald’s launched the myth-busting ‘Your Questions’ campaign, the fast food giant has received over 14,000 questions from curious Australians.

Based on a successful Canadian push, the ‘Your Questions’ assault is designed to assure Aussies McDonald’s food is OK. No pink slime, no plastic cheese and no ammonia.

So far, one of the most common questions has been:

Why do burgers look different in advertisements? McDonald’s Australia hasn’t made a detailed video showing the process but, happily, the Canadians did a bonzer one.

And of course, there’s been some old nuggets floating around we’ve all heard at some point:

“Are the gherkins only in burgers so they wouldn’t be considered confectionary?” No.

“Is there pig fat in the ice cream or thickshakes?” Nope. No lard.

But the weirdest ones may have to be: “Is it true you use nail clippings in your ice cream?” and “Is there frog meat in the nuggets?” A resounding no to both. Though the frog meat one is understandable. Everyone says it tastes just like chicken.

These were the most common questions:

“What’s in the beef patties?” Beef.

“What’s the Big Mac sauce?” A whole bunch of stuff including relish, garlic, salted egg yolk, mustard and hydrolysed protein.

“Is ‘100% Aussie Beef’ just the name of the company who supplies the beef patties?” Nope.

News_Image_File: Are the burgers getting smaller? Apparently the Big Mac is the same size as it was in the 1970s. Picture: News Limited.

“Where does McDonald’s cheese come from?” It’s processed cheese made with cheddar cheese that’s blended with other cheeses and ingredients such as salt, water, milk solids, emulsifier, colours and preservative.

“What’s in the soft serve?” Milk, cream, milk solids, sugar, glucose, emulsifiers, vegetable gums and flavour.
