Mura Masa and Charli XCX debuted the music video to their song “1 Night” yesterday.
The video features multiple couples in the same apartment building, showcasing the relationships and connections between each other. In between shots of the couples, Charli XCX sings and dances in a gymnasium with some other people. The video is tinged with sadness. It gives the viewer a sense that the seemingly happy relationships in the video may not work out so well after all.
The song, released earlier this month, is part of Mura Masa’s upcoming album. In a BBC interview, Masa said that “it was important to me not to make just another pop song. It had to be a little bit more interesting. I think hopefully this achieves a little bit of both worlds, like something from her world and something from my world,” (via Rolling Stone).
