FOOTAGE of a vicious schoolyard fight has emerged between a senior and junior student at a Perth high school.

In the brutal incident, which has been described as one of the worst circulated, a Year 11 student is seen repeatedly punching a Year 8 boy.

Students watch on as the horrific incident continues, with one female heard saying, “Yeah, get him” as no one intervenes.

Western Australia Police confirmed they are investigating an incident that occurred at a school in Gosnells about 2.45pm on Monday.

“Two students were involved in a physical altercation and one student received facial injuries which required treatment at hospital,” a spokesman said.

While inquiries are continuing, news.com.au understands the senior student, aged 17, along with two other students involved, has been suspended.

The 13-year-old injured in the fight has been at home recovering from his injuries.

A source said the fight started because of a girl, and was the culmination of two months’ worth of events.

The Department of Education has confirmed to news.com.au three students have been suspended over the incident with suspensions ranging from three to 10 days.

“School staff have been aware of and actively managing a social conflict between a group of students and providing intense student support and behaviour management, altering student timetables to minimise interactions and keeping parents informed of steps taken,” a spokeswoman for the department said.

“The school has a strong stance on bullying and works with the school community to teach students about appropriate behaviour and making positive choices.

“While school staff can neither monitor nor control social media and private after-hours interactions that significantly inflame such situations, they will continue to make every effort to mediate issues and manage behaviour within the school.”

The Department of Education WA confirmed a “statement of intent” between the 13-year-old and the girl had already been created.

Such a statement details how the students will interact to prevent any further issues.

It comes after a Perth mum called for mobile phones to be banned at schools after her daughter was viciously assaulted by a group of girls who filmed that incident, also on Monday.

“They kept kicking and pushing me until I got to the door and then she pulled me by my hair and kneed me in the face and that’s when I dropped to the floor,” she told Nine News.

The two students who allegedly instigated the assault have been suspended and WA Police are investigating.

The department said the use of mobile phones was up to school principals.

Several other videos of Perth school fights have been circulated recently, with one Instagram page shut down after several complaints.

In the latest video, the students appear unfazed by the violence unfolding before them.

“The level of attack is very violent, it’s like a pub fight,” said a source.

“He could have killed him. I feel like it’s one of the worst school fight videos I’ve seen.

“You’re supposed to go to school to feel safe.”
