More than a million and a half people are baking the petition to use Kobe Bryant’s image as the new official NBA logo. Until now, more than one and a half million people signed this.

As you already know, Kobe is considered to be one of the greatest basketball players in the history of the game, and he passed away this Sunday together with his daughter, Gianna Bryant, and seven more people in a helicopter crash.

CNN revealed that writing on Change.org, the petition’s founder Nick M said the following:

‘With the untimely and unexpected passing of the great Kobe Bryant, please sign this petition in an attempt to immortalize him forever as the new NBA logo.’

Rapper T.I. is heartbroken, and he is also supporting this petition, and he posted the following on his social media account.

Some people told Tip that they have already signed this petition, and others said that the logo should not be changed – there are more amazing players out there and, in their opinion, a change like this would not be fair for them.

CNN also revealed that the current logo was designed by Alan Siegel, and features the silhouette of another huge LA Lakers player, Jerry West. He is now 81 years old.

West also shared a heartfelt tribute to Bryant following the tragic news. He said that he felt as though he had lost a son.

‘This loss of Kobe, Gianna, and everyone on board, is beyond tragic and incomprehensible,’ he stated.

He continued and said, ‘I will love Kobe forever and always cherish the time that I spent with him. I watched him grow from an energetic kid into the man he became, making a difference in so many people’s life. He has left the world a better place.’

The whole world is grieving these days, and everyone is sending prayers and warm wishes to Kobe’s wife, Vanessa, and their other girls.
