At Survivor Series in 2017, AJ Styles met Brock Lesnar.

It was one of the best matches of the night and of Lesnar's career since returning to WWE in 2012.

When Lesnar was on top of the world between 2003-04 in WWE, Styles trying his best to carve out his name in TNA.

It's kind of crazy that 15 years later Styles would get to face the biggest box office draw in wrestling today on pay-per-view in WWE.

We've heard many stories of Lesnar being a joy to work with behind the scenes in recent years and that goes against the perception that the Beast Incarnate was there for the money and he didn't care.

Drew McIntyre told talkSPORT how Lesnar went to great lengths to make him look great during his Royal Rumble win.

Of course, the one account that differs from that is Jon Moxley's recollection of working with Lesnar at WrestleMania 32.

Moxley said Lesnar was not interested in having a great match with him and didn't go for nearly any of his ideas.
Styles had the polar opposite experience with the Beast.

Speaking on his Twitch stream, Styles was full of praise for Lesnar and the match they had.

"Putting together that match was a lot of fun," Styles said. "I thought it came together really well and I'm really proud of that match. It was a true David vs. Goliath thing with him beating the crap out of me at the beginning and making people think, 'Oh, AJ's got no chance' and then all of a sudden it was, 'Oh my God - maybe he does have a chance'.

"That was a really cool and fun match. Brock's so great, too. I loved working with him."

Styles had to defeat Jinder Mahal in the last minute to get the match up as the Canadian was originally advertised as the man in the champion Vs. champion matchup.

There has been plenty of speculation about Styles's future in WWE after he stated he wanted to retire soon and opened up about AEW talks last year, but Styles does say he is happy.
